Eton Membership Rewards Terms and Conditions

 

*The Terms and Conditions set forth herein take effect on JANUARY 01, 2024 and supersede all prior Terms & Conditions.

ETON PREFERRED GUEST

These following Terms and Conditions (the "T&C") govern the customer loyalty program known as ETON PREFERRED GUEST Program (the "Program") operated by The Eton Hotel Shanghai (the "Hotel") and the relationship with members of the Program (the "Member"). By accepting and utilized the Membership Card (the "Card") and its attached privileges, the Members shall be deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by the T&C.

SECTION 1 - MEMBERSHIP

  • Membership in the Program is free and available to individuals who are at least 18 years of age or have reached the age of majority in their country of residence. Membership in the Program is void if prohibited or restricted by law in the Member’s country of residence.Only individuals are eligible for Membership. Corporations, associations, groups and/or other entities may not be enrolled into the Program. Each individual may maintain only one Account. Duplicate Accounts will be terminated and all associated Etonpoints may be forfeited.
  • Account” is a web-based portal where Member can manage their account information, review rewards history, and redeem Etonpoints upon login.
  • Etonpoints ” refers to the numerical incentive awarded to Member. These do not have cash value, cannot be redeemed for cash, cannot transferable under any circumstance. Employees of the Hotel and our affiliates are not eligible to participate in the Program. 
  • The Member is entitled to special privileges, hotel discounts and promotions that are not extended to non-members. Membership in the Program, corresponding Etonpoints earned and all Membership benefits do not constitute the property of the Member and as such, may not be transferred or utilized by anyone other than the Member under whom the Membership Account is registered. All membership benefits, unless otherwise stated, are subject to availability.
  • Membership in the Program may be cancelled upon the written request from the Member to Eton Membership Service. All unused Etonpoints and attached benefits will be forfeited immediately and may not be transferred or retrieved.
  • Hotel in its sole discretion reserves the right to terminate Membership in the Program for any Member who acts in a manner inconsistent with applicable laws or ordinances and who utilizes Membership Benefits in a manner inconsistent with the Terms or Conditions. All Etonpoints, benefits and privileges associated with said Membership will be discontinued.

 

SECTION 2 - MEMBERSHIP TIERS

Upon reaching certain Room Revenue (inclusive of service charge) threshold from January 1 to December 31 of every year, a Member will earned certain membership status and become Platinum Preferred Guest or Diamond Preferred Guest. The requirements and privileges are listed as below.

  • A "Calendar year" is a period from January 1 to December 31 of every year;
  • GOLD Membership is the base membership level for the Program. Upon reaching Room Revenue (inclusive of service charge) within one calendar year, the Card will be issued to the Member and the Member may start earning Etonpoints and enjoy all related membership benefits. 
  • PLATINUM Membership will be awarded upon achieving CNY 20,000 as the total rooms revenue accumulated (inclusive of service charge) within a calendar year and allows the Member to start earning Etonpoints and enjoy all related membership benefits. 
  • DIAMOND Membership will be awarded upon achieving CNY 40,000 as the total rooms revenue accumulated (inclusive of service charge) within a calendar year and allows the Member to start earning Etonpoints and enjoy all related membership benefits. 
  • PLATINUM or DIAMOND Membership status is valid from January 1 to December 31 of every year. If the rooms' revenue accumulated does not reach the required level; the membership level will be automatically downgraded.
  • Room charges of complimentary stays, barter rooms and any other promotional rates decided upon by the Hotel may not be counted towards eligible room revenue.

 

SECTION 3 - EARNING ETONPOINTS

  • One (1) Etonpoints is rewarded to the Member’s Account for every CNY 1 of Eligible Expenditures charged to a Member’s room bill during a Eligible Stay. "Eligible Expenditures" refers to room charges, F&B charges, and all other charges for Hotel services that are reflected on the Member’s room statement; All room rates are qualified to earn Etonpoints for the member except for complimentary stays, barter rooms and any other promotional rates decided upon by the Hotel
  • Members are responsible for informing Hotel staff their Membership Number during check-in or reservations to ensure their Eligible Stays are credited to their Account.
  • When one (1) room is shared by two Members, Etonpoints will be awarded to the Account of only one Member. Members may earn Etonpoints on Eligible Expenditures for rooms with Eligible Stays, including Member’s own room, provided that Member informs Hotel staff during check-in and pays for all charges upon check-out
  • Members may not earn Etonpoints for charges settled with Hotel cash vouchers and/or gift certificates. Group master-billing where charges for multiple rooms are merged into one bill and billed to a company or settled at check-out by one individual are not eligible for Etonpoints. Incidental charges paid for by the Member at check-out are eligible for Etonpoints but those billed to a master bill are not eligible for Etonpoints
  • Etonpoints are credited to Member’s Account two business days after check-out and/or when charges have been settled. Members may check their transaction activity and Etonpoints balance through their online Account on the Member’s Page at www.etonhotelshanghai.cn or get in touch with Eton Membership Service via call, email or WeChat ID: EPG
  • Members who are missing credits in their Account may submit a written request to review their activity statement. The Membership Number and confirmation number or stay period of the missing stay should be indicated in the written request. Requests for missing credits must be received within the same calendar year. Hotel requires a period of two weeks to review the request and to upload missing credits.
  • Eton Membership Service reserves the right to adjust rewards statements or point balances that are incorrect due to processing errors.
  • New points accumulated with effect from 01 January 2017 must be utilized within 12 months. As our valued EPG members, please be advised that your points previously accumulated have to be utilized by 31 Dec 2017. We strongly encourage you to utilize all your points’ on-hand before the stipulated date. Otherwise, these points will be deemed expired and not redeemable after the due date.
  • Members may earn Bonus Etonpoints through: (i) Arrival Gift Points to PLATINUM and DIAMOND Members (ii) Gift Points of Upgrade to PLATINUM and DIAMOND Members (ii) Direct Booking through Hotel's Official Website at www.etonhotelshanghai.cn

 

SECTION 4 - REDEEMING ETONPOINTS

  • Members can redeem Etonpoints for gifts by accessing the online Account or by completing a Rewards Redemption Request Form which can be requested from Eton Membership Service. 
  • All gift redemptions require sufficient accumulation of Etonpoints in a Member’s Account otherwise the request will be rejected automatically.
  • Hotel may require up to two to four working weeks for processing and delivery of redeemed items
  • Where delivery to an address outside the hotel is requested, the redeemed item/s will only be delivered to the mailing address specified by the Member claiming the reward. Any item lost, stolen, damaged, or destroyed in the course of delivery will not be replaced.
  • Where the redeemed item becomes out of stock or unavailable, the Hotel may replace said item with a product bearing equivalent monetary value. The brand, make or specification however may or may not be similar to the original item redeemed.
  • The Hotel makes no warranties or representations, whether expressed or implied; and expressly disclaims any and all liabilities and/or consequential damages with respect to the quality, type or fitness of goods or services claimed, redeemed and/or enjoyed through the Program. This Clause shall also apply to individual/s, who are not Members, but to whom redeemed items have been turned over to by any Member.
  • The Hotel reserves the right to reject any requests to cancel redemption requests that have been completed successfully. 
  • The Hotel reserves the right to modify at any time and without prior notice, the ratio between points and the corresponding reward, to reflect existing market conditions.

 

SECTION 5 - OTHER TERMS

  • Member has sole responsibility for reading Program Terms and Conditions, newsletters, and Account statements in order to understand his or her rights, responsibilities, and current status in the Program, as well as the structure of the Program and mechanics for redeeming Awards.
  • The Member is responsible for maintaining the security of the Account log-in information and any Account activity resulting from use of the Membership Number and Password by another person, whether a family member, company staff or otherwise. The Hotel shall not be liable for any losses or damages resulting from unauthorized access to the Account.
  • The Program is operated by the Hotel, together with authorized service providers who may have access to Members’ records. Enrolment into the Program means that the Member consents to provide required information, including but not limited to the following: Full Name, Mailing Address, and Email Address. The information would enable the Hotel to facilitate administration of the Program and allow the Member to maximize the benefits of Membership. Members have the opportunity to provide additional information or revise current information when managing the online Account.
  • The Hotel may send promotions, offers and other communications from time to time to the mailing address and/or email address provided by Member during registration. Member is responsible for updating his/her contact information either through the online Account or by advising the Hotel in writing. The Hotel is not liable for loss of correspondence, requests, gift redemptions that may be lost, stolen or delayed in the mail/courier.
  • Etonpoints and gift redemptions earned through the Program may be subject to income or other taxes. Payment of such, including but not limited to disclosure to third parties, is the sole responsibility of the Member.
  • Sale or barter of Etonpoints, gift certificates, and/or other benefits is prohibited. Any Etonpoints, gift certificates, and/or other benefits deemed by Hotel in its sole discretion to have been acquired through barter or sales will be considered invalid and not recognized.
  • The Hotel reserves the right to add, limit, cancel, delete or otherwise change the Terms and Conditions stated herein at any time, with or without prior notice, even though such changes may affect the value of Etonpoints, the ability to obtain gift redemptions, or the privilege of enjoying certain benefits.
  • The Hotel reserves the right to restrict, suspend, cancel, or terminate the Program, with or without prior notice and with no liability to itself. Member’s right to redeem Etonpoints will cease to be effective ninety (90) days from Date of Termination.
  • Interpretation of all clauses within this Terms and Conditions shall be at the sole discretion of the Hotel.  If other language versions for the Terms and Condition do not conform to the Chinese version, the Chinese version shall prevail.
  • Program Terms and Conditions are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the People’s Republic of China, and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the applicable courts in the city of Shanghai at the domicile of the Hotel.

ETON PREFERRED PARTNER

These Terms and Conditions govern the ETON PREFERRED PARTNER Program (the "“Program") operated by The Eton Hotel Shanghai (the “Hotel") and our relationship with members of the Program (the "“Member"). By accepting and utilized the Membership Card (the "“Card") and its attached privileges, the Member shall be deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by the T&C.

 

SECTION 1 - MEMBERSHIP

  • Membership in the Program is free and available to individuals who are at least 18 years of age or have reached the age of majority in their country of residence. Enrolment into the Program only by invitation by the Hotel. Membership in the Program is void if prohibited or restricted by law in the Member’s country of residence. Only individuals are eligible for Membership. Corporations, associations, groups and/or other entities may not be enrolled into the Program.
  • Each individual may maintain only one Membership Account. Duplicate Accounts will be terminated and all associated Etonpoints may be forfeited. “Account” is a web-based portal where Member can edit membership details, review rewards history, and redeem Etonpoints upon login. “Etonpoints ” refers to the numerical incentive awarded to Member. These do not have cash value, cannot be redeemed for cash, cannot transferable under any circumstance. Employees of the Hotel, Travel Agents, Conference Agents and our affiliates are not eligible to participate in the Program. 
  • The Member is issued a Card and Membership Number that corresponds with his/her tier status and should be presented when availing of Membership benefits. Member shall sign on the Card immediately upon receipt and keep the Card in the safe custody. The Card or its Membership Number is not transferable and cannot be shared or used by other persons for whatever purposes. “Membership Number” is an unique six-digit identification issued to each Member upon enrolment into the program.
  • The Member is entitled to special privileges, hotel discounts and promotions that are not extended to non-members. Membership in the Program, corresponding Etonpoints earned and all Membership benefits do not constitute the property of the Member and as such, may not be transferred or utilized by anyone other than the Member under whom the Membership Account is registered. All membership benefits, unless otherwise stated, are subject to availability.
  • Membership in the Program may be cancelled upon the written request from the Member to Eton Membership Service. All unused Points and attached benefits will be forfeited immediately and may not be transferred or retrieved.
  • Hotel in its sole discretion reserves the right to terminate Membership in the Program for any Member who acts in a manner inconsistent with applicable laws or ordinances and who utilizes Membership Benefits in a manner inconsistent with the Terms or Conditions. All Etonpoints, benefits and privileges associated with said Membership will be discontinued.

 

SECTION 2 - EARNING ETONPOINTS

  • One (1) Point is rewarded to the Member’s Account for every RMB 2 of Qualifying Room Rate charged on corporate guest/s booked by Member during a Qualifying Stay.  “Qualifying Stay” refers to the record of consecutive nights registered under, stayed in and fully paid at the Hotel.
  • One (1) Etonpoint is rewarded to the Member’s Account for every RMB 2 of a Qualifying Meeting Package. “Qualifying Meeting Package” refers to a corporate meeting or conference booked with the Hotel and which includes use of meeting room/s and/or catering service. Does not include parking coupons, weddings, birthdays, and/or parties.
  • Etonpoints are only awarded on corporate bookings which bookings of the guest rooms or meeting rooms should be made on behalf of corporate travelers or corporate events under the same company with which the Member is employed.
  • Leisure bookings are not eligible. Etonpoints are not awarded on cancelled bookings or bookings which have not been paid in full. Complimentary stays, barter rooms, commissionable rates and any other promotional rates are not eligible.
  • Members are responsible for informing Hotel staff their Membership Number when making reservations for corporate travelers or corporate events under the same company to ensure that bookings are credited to their Account.
  • Members may not earn Points for charges settled with Hotel cash vouchers and/or gift certificates.
  • Etonpoints are credited to Member’s Account two business days after check-out and/or when charges have been fully paid.
  • Members may check their transaction activity and Etonpoints balance through their online Account on the Member’s Page at www.etonhotelshanghai.cn or get in touch with Eton Membership Service via call, email or WeChat ID: EPP

Etonpoints earned within one calendar year are valid for the same calendar year and the following calendar year, after which points that remain unused or unredeemed on the last day of the second calendar year become null and void. “Calendar year” is a period from January 1 to December 31 of each year.

DATA PROTECTION

  • Data Protection. Any personal information (including but not limited to a member’s name, mailing address, telephone number and email address) provided by a member to the Hotel, either when applying for membership of the Program or by continuing to exercise the privileges of membership of the Program, will be stored electronically and used for the administration of the Program. In order for Hotel to fulfil their obligations under the Program, the member accepts and consents to the fact that personal information; (i) shall be processed by Hotel, in their capacity as a data controllers and (ii) may be transferred to third parties to process the personal information on Hotel's behalf or where required by applicable law or in the event of a company reorganization, merger or acquisition for use of such information for the administration of membership records, guest services, advertising, marketing and communication purposes.
  • Communications to Members. Hotel may contact members for marketing purposes by mail, fax, telephone or email.
  • Right of Access to Data. Members have a right of access to their personal information held by Hotel by sending a written request to Eton Membership Service, The Eton Hotel Shanghai, 535 Pudong Avenue, Pudong New Area, Shanghai 200120, China.

New points accumulated with effect from 01 January 2017 must be utilized within 12 months.
